The new protocol involves perfume samples on display and a salesperson on call to retrieve the item should a patron want to purchase. The company told CNN the change was implemented because perfumes and colognes were among the most frequently shoplifted items in Sephora stores, and shoplifting numbers were trending higher. At Sephora, consumers could handle the product themselves, wandering the aisles and filling up shopping baskets like they were at the supermarket. Returning to a different perfume shopping model is a bit of a return to the status quo of an earlier era. Previous generations did more interfacing with salespeople in stores, particularly for items like perfume, and perhaps we should too.

I'm fucking done," she told a reporter at Time, who described Wolfe Herd as "blinking back tears" during the interview. "My hands are tied," Wolfe Herd told the audience, according to several people who were in the room. Wolfe Herd once called him her biggest mentor, saying, "He's become my family and one of my best friends." Some early employees said they only found out about the shadow-equity program, and who received it, years later. Based on the current share price, Wolfe Herd is no longer a billionaire, though her fortune still sits at an estimated $627 million.

(Photo by Charley Gallay/Getty Images for Netflix)The main takeaway from Netflix 's second quarter earnings is business is ... good. Netflix added 1.2 million subscribers in the United States and Canada in the quarter — its largest regional quarterly gain since 2021. This is not the story for the rest of the media industry. That means Netflix will actually have even more cash than it previously expected. Next quarter, Netflix forecast subscriber gains will be about 6 million again.

Today, we're talking about what the downfall of Twitter could look like — and it's probably not what you think. Reporting from my colleagues Matt Weinberger and Kali Hays suggests the site probably won't crash and burn in spectacular fashion. The death of Twitter won't be the dramatic explosion you might expect. A leaked email shows Twitter employees must send Elon Musk weekly updates of everything they've worked on. In other Musk news, the billionaire told Twitter employees that he's done with layoffs for now, and he tweeted Monday that the Twitter Blue relaunch is on hold.
Investors are still digesting the news that Bob Iger will reprise his role as the chief executive of Disney. Bob Iger, CEO of Disney Charley Gallay/Stringer/Getty Images1. On Sunday, Disney announced legendary leader Bob Iger would return to his post as CEO and replace Bob Chapek, even though Chapek just months ago signed a contract extension. Disney stock had plunged 21% since Chapek's appointment in February 2020. As long as these headwinds batter the stock market, investors are likely not going to sit idly by and watch what they believe to be mismanagement by corporate leaders.
